Jane Iredale Pure & Simple in the shade Light
I was lucky enough to snag a free Jane Iredale Pure and Simple kit from Influenster and am excited to do a swatch and review for you guys today! My kit is in the shade Light and contains two foundation shades, a blush, two eyeshadows and a cheek and lip stain along with a cheek and dual-ended eye brush.
The first thing I noticed about this kit is how silky and smooth the makeup applies. Unfortunately, this is due to the silicone in it - an ingredient I have to be very careful with as I have sensitive skin. So if you're sensitive/acne-prone, beware.
I've never been a big fan of pressed powder formulations in general as they tend to look chalky and cakey on me but these are really nice. They go on very opaque and feel soft on the skin. The coverage is medium to full.
Here are all the shades swatched below:
The lip stain feels buttery smooth on the lips yet it lasted quite a while on me. I didn't swatch it as it originally looked somewhat sheer in the tube but it is actually super pigmented. It has a matte finish and is a beautiful coral shade. The finish/pigmentation is similar to Fresh tinted lip balm but it's a bit more long lasting. It's definitely a stain versus a balm, despite its appearance in the tube.
I also really love the plum eyeshadow shade - I applied it with a damp synthetic brush to intensify the pigment in the look I'm wearing in the above photo.
All in all this is a nice kit for those who are new to the brand or want a streamlined makeup routine at their fingertips. It is super convenient for traveling with its no-mess design.
