Underrated product spotlight | Tarte Tarteist Clay Paint Liner
This is a column where I pick an under-the-radar product I love and share it with you guys.
Tarte Tarteist Clay Paint Liner
I am Goldilocks and the three bears when it comes to eyeliner. Whether the formula is too thick or too thin, too black or not black enough, it is tough for me to find one that’s just right. Tarte Tarteist Clay Paint Liner is one liner that really hits the mark for me.
Tarte Tarteist Clay Paint Liner is a waterproof cream eyeliner with a unique blending tip inspired by an artist’s palette, according to Sephora. It retails for $24 and comes with a thin angled bamboo brush. I have it in black but it also comes in silver and gold.
The blending tip allows you room to blend the product and ensure you pick up the right amount.
The formula is a bit on the thicker side but super creamy, which makes it foolproof to apply. The formula is perfect for me. I struggle with liquid liners sometimes because they can be a little difficult to work with so this is a really happy medium between liquid and gel for me.
I like that Tarte liner is easy to manipulate and it doesn’t dry so fast that it locks in immediately. Once it does dry, it locks into place and wears for 8+ hours in my experience. I like that it’s waterproof as well.
It goes on so smooth without any tugging across the eye.
The brush it comes with is nothing spectacular but it’s good and easy to work with. The bamboo handle is a nice touch.
It wears beautifully and is the perfect black for liner. Great for an easy winged eye.
My only gripe with this product is the amount you get for the price. It is a small tube and should contain more product for $24. I’ve been squeezing mine for a while now and it’s definitely near the bitter end. Much of the tube seems to be filled with air, so this is a con for me.
