Short dresses for bridal events + how to wear them again

Short dresses for bridal events + how to wear them again

As a girl who wore a short dress to senior prom, I thought for sure I'd reprise that at my wedding. I've just never been a huge fan of long dresses. I think they look amazing on other women, just not on me. That all changed, though, when I found my dream wedding dress complete with a train longer than I'd envisioned.

However, I'll take a short frock any day, and with wedding season upon us there are so many opportunities to wear them at bridal showers, bachelorette parties and more. Even better, there has been an influx of gorgeous options in stores and online in the past few weeks. Whether you're getting married or you're just looking for a summery white dress, check out some of the prettiest options out right now.

A bustier dress is so flattering especially on petite brides. This style has a very structured shape which I love. If you want to go body con, bandage dresses are another option for a sexy yet chic look.

Dress pictured above is by Guess; similar here and here and for the fearless sexy brides, here and here.

Throw a cropped moto or leather jacket over it for an on-trend way to wear it again.

Lace is huge for bridal and in a flowy shape you just can't go wrong. It's perfect for spring and early summer wedding events, and there are so many gorgeous options out right now. I am in love with this dress. It' so feminine and soft, and not too revealing. I like that it is a midi length, too! Another all-over lace option here.

One of my favorite pairings ever is a breezy flowy dress with a structured utility jacket. I like pairing a really girly piece with something a bit tougher. It's one of those go-to looks I throw on when I don't know what to wear because it always looks good and effortless. You can wear it with sandals in the spring and summer or ankle boots and knit over the knee socks in the fall.

A square neck midi sheath dress like this one looks so chic and is wearable to work with a blazer over it.

Show off your shoulders in an off-the-shoulder dress in a more forgiving cut like this one or this. I love dressing up a romper and this one has plenty of flounce and lace.

What are your favorite summer dresses out right now? Let me know in the comments :)
