Kat Von D Everlasting Lip Liner Review | Lolita | Swatches
Kat Von D Everlasting lip liner in cult-favorite Lolita
(Note: While I received this product for free from Influenster, all opinions are my own.)
I recently signed up for Influenster and was lucky enough to be chosen for the Kat Von D Everlasting lip liner campaign! I was so excited when I got mine in the mail this weekend because the packaging was gorgeous and I know how much everyone loves the shade Lolita in the lipstick/liquid forms, so I was excited to try it in a lip pencil.

About the lip liner...
This is a twist-up pencil; it doesn't come with a sharpener. The first thing I noticed about the formula was how creamy and blendable it is. A lot of lip liners are dry and drag across your lips but this applied like a dream. It's very matte but didn't accentuate lines in my lips.
What I love most about the shade, Lolita, is that it's edgy but still very wearable. I tend to gravitate towards lighter lip shades so this is a little out of my wheelhouse, but I was really surprised by how much I like it. I'm very fair-skinned and it doesn't make me look dead like some other brownish lip colors do.
Kat Von D Beauty claims this liner has 24-hour wear and is water resistant, and while I did not wear mine for 24 hours because I don't wear makeup while I sleep, I would say it absolutely lives up to its claim of having amazing staying power. I had to scrub my arm with Dawn dish soap to get the swatch off, and they use that stuff to clean oil spills. So if you're looking for a liner that won't budge, this is it. It was a bit easier to take off on my lips, fortunately. It wiped right off with a tissue.
It is a lovely shade that doesn't skew too warm or cool so it is flattering on a range of skin tones. The best way I would describe it is a smoky brownish apricot with a hint of plum. The company describes it as chestnut rose. It's one of those universally flattering shades that work on all skin tones, because it also looks different on everyone.
It looks stunning on its own but I also tried layering a rose-colored lipstick over it for a different look. I love getting lip liners in new shades because they can change up the look of your lipstick so much. Seriously, if you're tired of your old lipsticks, try playing around with liners underneath for a fresh take.
All in all I would definitely buy this liner, and I look forward to trying other colors. Check out all 30 shades online at Sephora.
P.S. When I wore it I was struck with an idea for a tutorial inspired by a certain revered decade, so keep an eye out for it soon. I won't say too much more to keep it a surprise :)
